The New York Mets reportedly reached agreement on a two-year deal with free-agent, right-hander Trevor May on Tuesday.
The deal is worth approximately $15 million, according to MLB Network.
Once consummated, the signing will represent the first free agent acquisition under new owner Steve Cohen.
May, 31, figures to serve in a setup role for the Mets.
The hard-throwing May has spent his entire major league career with the Minnesota Twins. He is 23-21 with a 4.44 ERA in 215 games (26 starts) since first reaching the majors in 2014.
Last season, May was 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 24 relief appearances.
May missed the 2017 season due to Tommy John surgery and has performed well since his return. He has struck out 153 and allowed just 84 hits in 113 innings over 113 appearances in the three-season span.
